Impact Report

Change worth reading about

A future we can look forward to...

Our Impact as a company is grounded in the belief that something as simple as washing a load of laundry has the power to create change.

You buy.

Good things happen.

Believe it or not, when you wash your clothes you’re getting more than just a powerful clean with less chemical residue.

*less chemical residue compared to detergents with optical brighteners.

Every time you choose to wash your clothes with Earth Breeze…

Pile of discarded plastic bottles under a cloudy sky.

You are ditching the plastic jug. If we replaced every pack of Detergent Sheets sold with a plastic jug, there would be enough to stretch across the U.S. nearly 1 and a half times. That’s a lot of plastic NOT in our oceans.

You are supporting the recovery of plastic. 999,526 lbs of plastic and debris and counting.

You are the reason someone in need can wash their clothes. Nearly 300 million loads of laundry detergent delivered into the hands of people who need it.

From us to you,

thank you!

We care a lot here. We care about making great products with a powerful clean, we care about leaving the planet a little better than we found it, and we care about YOU!

Our Team

Our team works hard every day to make our customers a priority.

Dignity Through Detergent™

What does dignity have to do with detergent? As it turns out, quite a lot!

For most of us the ability to clean our clothes is not something we think about.

It’s a routine chore, but have you ever wondered what the impact of not having laundry detergent could mean in your life? How you might feel about yourself? How this might limit you or your children?

50% of people experiencing hygiene insecurity feel anxious or depressed.

The number 1 reason financially insecure students fail to attend school is not having clean clothes to wear.

1 in 8 people experiencing hygiene insecurity have avoided a job interview.

70% of low-income families without washing machines regularly skip doing laundry in order to save money for food and shelter.

Clean clothes matter because the people who wear them matter.

The average family does 300 loads of laundry a year.

That's approximately 1 million families that have clean clothes to wear thanks to our Earth Breeze customers, partners, and community.

“There are currently more pieces of plastic in our oceans than stars in our entire galaxy.”

- Caiti Waks, Debris Free Oceans

This year we set a bold goal to help change that. We are working towards cleaning up 1.5 Million lbs of plastic and waste in collaboration with Ocean Blue Project.

981,940 lbs

of plastic and debris cleaned

999,526

pounds collected across all efforts so far.

Where are we collecting plastic waste from?

We are combining efforts on the ground and at scale to maximize our impact. By working with incredible partners like Ocean Blue Project and Debris Free Oceans we can help recover debris after natural disasters, comb beaches and trawl bodies of water for plastics, snorkel for waste discarded by boaters, collect trash in protected parks, and more.

Every plastic jug kept out of a landfill, and every piece of waste removed from our environment today makes a difference for tomorrow and beyond.

Dignity in Disaster

- Survivor of Hurricane Helene

When disaster strikes, it can happen very suddenly. The aftermath, however, is often long-lasting and can impact communities for years. Laundry detergent and clean clothes play a surprisingly vital role in maintaining hygiene and providing survivors with dignity. Impacted individuals often face challenging living conditions. These conditions can lead to the spread of illness, the loss of sentimental items due to mold, and emotional distress.

This year alone, we have donated 27,349,120 loads to various disaster relief and humanitarian aid organizations globally.

Customer Spotlight: Ryan ‘The Laundry Guy’ Ziegler

We met Ryan through a direct message. He reached out letting us know his town had been ‘demolished’ by flooding and he was helping hand out supplies. We got to know Ryan and his story. How he, like many others, was not sure if he would make it through that fateful night Helene hit. How he reached out to his loved ones. How, when the morning came he found himself cut off from the rest of the world and surrounded by rushing water.

As soon as Ryan could find service the first thing on his mind was how he could help. He banded together with others from the community and they quickly got to work opening up roads and distributing supplies to isolated homes. However, as he was distributing supplies Ryan continued to get an unexpected request time and time again. ‘Do you have laundry detergent?’

People were living on their lawns and trying to dry out and preserve the few items that they had left. Thinking how there would be no way he could fit hundreds let alone thousands of detergent jugs in his Honda Civic, Ryan took a shot in the dark and reached out to us.

We were happy to answer Ryan's message and request. We sent him 1,000 packages of Earth Breeze so he could distribute these, on the ground, to the people in his community who needed it most. It didn’t take long before Ryan became known as ‘The Laundry Guy’ and quickly got a reputation as the go to for detergent. He even supported neighboring towns and relief centers who had run out or simply couldn’t distribute bulk liquid in aid kits.

We asked Ryan what message from his community he would want to share to the world and he said plainly, ‘Don’t forget about us. As the news cycles move on, the path to recovery continues and we still need help.’

Our hearts and thoughts continue to be with those impacted by Helene, and all other disasters this year. We’re committed to showing up not only on day one, but in the days to come. We couldn’t be more inspired by Ryan and his story and are grateful there are such heroes in our Earth Breeze community.

Taking Environmental Responsibility

Our journey of taking responsibility for our carbon footprint started in 2020 in partnership with We Are Neutral.

To date we have offset 2,853+* total carbon emissions. That is equivalent to...

666* vehicles taken off the road for one year,

595* homes’ electricity use for one year, or...

47,178* tree saplings grown for ten years.

How it Works:

We sponsor projects to offset an equal amount of carbon emissions!

We care a lot about managing the offsetting of our business responsibly.

We are currently supporting a portfolio of verified carbon offset projects including afforestation/reforestation, improved forest management, intermodal transportation, landfill gas capture, and N2O abatement.

We Are Neutral's offsetting standards are supported through their partnerships with the Climate Action Reserve and Verified Carbon Standard. With help from We Are Neutral, the carbon offset projects we support meet their standards and are verified, unique, additional, and permanent.
